This policy explains how I collect and use your personal data when you contact me or book a valeting service through Pamper My Ride. I'm Daniel, operating as a sole trader under the name Pamper My Ride, based in Teesside, UK.

What data I collect

When you contact me or make a booking, I may collect:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number or WhatsApp number
  • Your email address (if you provide it)
  • Your address or postcode (to confirm I cover your area and to attend the booking)
  • Details about your vehicle (make, model, condition) so I can quote accurately
  • Booking details (date, time, service requested)

I do not collect payment details on this website. Payments are made in person on the day, by cash or card.

How I collect it

Your data may come through:

  • WhatsApp - when you message me directly
  • SimplyBook.me - the online booking system I use
  • Phone calls - when you call or I call you back
  • This website - through the contact and booking pages

Why I use it and the legal basis

Under UK GDPR, I need a lawful basis to process your data. Here is how that applies:

  • To fulfil a contract - I use your name, contact details, address, and vehicle details to provide the valeting service you have booked. This is the main legal basis for most of the data I hold.
  • Legitimate interests - I may contact you about your booking, confirm arrival times, or follow up after a job. This is in the reasonable interest of running the business and does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation - I keep basic financial records (invoices, booking history) as required by HMRC.

I do not send marketing emails or texts without your permission.

Third parties I share data with

SimplyBook.me

I use SimplyBook.me to manage online bookings. When you book online, your name, contact details, and booking information are stored in their system. SimplyBook.me is a data processor acting on my behalf. You can read their privacy policy at simplybook.me/en/privacy-policy .

WhatsApp / Meta

If you contact me via WhatsApp, your messages are processed by Meta Platforms. WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption for messages. Meta's data practices are governed by their own privacy policy. I use WhatsApp solely to communicate with you about your booking.

Analytics

This website does not currently use analytics tracking. If analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) are added in future, this policy will be updated to reflect that.

No other third parties

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

How long I keep your data

  • Booking records - kept for 6 years to comply with HMRC record-keeping requirements.
  • WhatsApp conversation history - retained as long as the conversation thread exists. You can delete your side of the conversation at any time.
  • Data no longer needed - deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required for the purposes above.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access - request a copy of the personal data I hold about you
  • Rectification - ask me to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure - ask me to delete your data where I have no legal reason to keep it
  • Restriction - ask me to limit how I use your data in certain circumstances
  • Objection - object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Portability - receive your data in a machine-readable format

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
